Wildfires: Assemblymember Frazier urges residents to comply with evacuation orders
Those impacted by fires will be eligible for FEMA disaster assistance
SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Jim Frazier (D-Discovery Bay) today attended a community meeting and press conference in Santa Rosa about the wildfires burning out of control in California with U.S. Senators Kamala Harris and Dianne Feinstein, Gov. Jerry Brown and other federal, state and local officials. Afterward, he released the following statement:
“Our first priority is people and their safety. So the first thing I want to emphasize is that if a first responder tells you to evacuate, please don't argue, please comply. It is for your own safety. This is something I really want to underscore: Certain parts of Solano County remain under evacuation orders. We know people want to return to their homes. But with the risk of unpredictable wind shifts, public safety officials want to be safe rather than put people at risk. Please don't return to a home that is under evacuation order.
Second, I want thank all the firefighters and first responders from all over the Western States who have come to California to assist us in our time of dire need.
Third, FEMA is going to help with recovery efforts. For information on disaster assistance, to go FEMA's webpage: https://www.fema.gov/ Call my District Office in Fairfield if you need assistance: 707-399-3011
Fourth: Sen. Harris, formerly California's attorney general, emphasized that If you are a victim of or witness price-gouging, don't hesitate to report it immediately to the office of state Attorney General Xavier Becerra: https://oag.ca.gov/”
