Frazier to participate in MLK events Monday in Fairfield and Antioch

SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Jim Frazier, D-Discovery Bay, is scheduled on Monday to participate at events to celebrate the birthday of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Fairfield and Antioch. He is slated to speak at both events.

“I wish I’d had the opportunity to know Dr. King; he was a man of great character,” said Frazier, a Life Member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

Monday morning, Frazier is scheduled to attend the National Council of Negro Women’s 13th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Breakfast, which begins at 9 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fairfield.

That afternoon, he is scheduled to attend the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration hosted by the City of Antioch and the Antioch Unified School District, which is scheduled to begin a 1 p.m. in the Deer Valley High School Theater.


Assemblymember Frazier represents the 11th Assembly District, which includes the communities of Antioch, Bethel Island, Birds Landing, Brentwood, Byron, Collinsville, Discovery Bay, Fairfield, Isleton, Knightsen, Locke, Oakley, Pittsburg (partial), Rio Vista, Suisun City, Travis AFB, Vacaville and Walnut Grove.
