Assemblymember Jim Frazier Issues Statement on Assembly Democrats Blueprint for a Responsible Budget

Friday, December 13, 2013

Sacramento, CA - Assemblymember Jim Frazier (D-Oakley) released the following statement today regarding the Assembly Democrats 2014-15 Blueprint for a Responsible Budget:

I commend Speaker John A. Pérez (D-Los Angeles), Budget Committee Chair Nancy Skinner (D-Berkeley) and the Assembly Democratic Caucus for their ongoing commitment to California’s fiscal responsibility.

The 2014-15 Blueprint for a Responsible Budget builds on the fiscal progress California has made over the past year. I believe this Blueprint serves as an excellent starting point to open conversations regarding additional investment in California’s rainy day fund, expanded funding for early and higher education, creation of job opportunities through investment in small business, and securing funding for local governments to support their infrastructure projects.

I am pleased that the Blueprint takes a comprehensive approach in addressing many of California’s prominent issues, and I look forward to working with my colleagues during the upcoming budget deliberations to see that funding is restored for transportation infrastructure projects and for developmental disability services. I will also continue to be a strong advocate for strengthening and revitalizing the funding for important projects and services to ensure that I meet the needs of my constituents and all Californians.
