Frazier Reappointed as Chair of Transportation Committee
Sacramento, CA – Assemblymember Frazier (D – Oakley) made the following statement after Speaker Anthony Rendon (D – Paramount) announced that he was reappointed as Chair of the Assembly Transportation Committee:
“I am honored that Speaker Rendon has given me the privilege to continue as Chair of the Assembly Transportation Committee.
“Serving as chair these past two years has afforded me the opportunity to travel throughout the state meeting with various transportation groups to discuss the important issues that affect Californians every day.
“A strong economy depends on roads and highways that are safe and efficient. This coming year, I will keep working with my colleagues and interested parties to find a comprehensive funding solution. If we continue to dismiss the impending transportation infrastructure crisis, the state will inevitably experience an economic downfall that will result in the loss of tens of thousands of jobs for hardworking Californians.
“My other top priorities will include implementing institutional reforms based on a system of performance measures, increasing accountability across the board to build public trust, surveying the appropriate use of technology and innovation, and improving driver safety through strengthening the provisional driver’s license program.
“I look forward to tackling these tough issues to create a safe and more reliable transportation system for California.”
Assemblymember Frazier represents the 11th Assembly District, which includes the communities of Antioch, Bethel Island, Birds Landing, Brentwood, Byron, Collinsville, Discovery Bay, Fairfield, Isleton, Knightsen, Locke, Oakley, Pittsburg (partial), Rio Vista, Suisun City, Travis AFB, Vacaville and Walnut Grove.
