Frazier on HSRA Business Plan: Still need to identify how to pay for the project
SACRAMENTO – The California High Speed Rail Authority today released an updated business plan with new cost estimates and timeline for completion. Assemblymember Jim Frazier (D-Discovery Bay), chairman of the Assembly Transportation Committee, issued the following statement.
“At first glance, the High Speed Rail project is still over budget and the funding to complete the program hasn’t been identified. We still have no realistic way to pay for the project. I look forward to reading deeper into the plan for more detailed information and getting more answers at the hearing we have planned for next month.”
Frazier has scheduled an Assembly Transportation Committee oversight hearing of the updated High Speed Rail business plan for April 2nd at the Capitol.
Assemblymember Frazier represents the 11th Assembly District, which includes the communities of Antioch, Bethel Island, Birds Landing, Brentwood, Byron, Collinsville, Discovery Bay, Fairfield, Isleton, Knightsen, Locke, Oakley, Pittsburg (partial), Rio Vista, Suisun City, Travis AFB, Vacaville and Walnut Grove.
