(Sacramento) - Assemblymember Jim Frazier (D-Discovery Bay), chair of the Assembly Select Committee on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, recently spoke in favor of Assembly Bill 2840, which establishes a pilot program for increasing long term employment opportunities for young adults with autism. “The number of people with autism continues to rise,” Assemblymember Frazier said. “Yet, we remain at a fifteen percent employment rate for people with developmental disabilities. The work that will be done though this pilot program will lay the groundwork for our State to deliver long-term employment opportunities for young adults with autism.” To see his entire speech, watch this Assembly Access video.
