Assemblymember Frazier Fights for the Delta

(Sacramento) - Assemblymember Jim Frazier (D-Discovery Bay) has introduced legislation (Assembly Bill 1876) that will disband the controversial Delta Stewardship Council and instead place its duties with the Delta Protection Commission. “The council has too often acted as a rubber stamp for the interests of Metropolitan Water District of Southern California to force through the tunnels,” Assemblymember Frazier told the Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee as he presented AB 1876. “By transferring duties to the Delta Protection Commission, the State can save up to $27-million annually and put the ongoing oversight of the Delta plan and levee investment strategy with a more able body.” To learn more, watch this Assembly Access video.
