Assemblymember Frazier Laments Lack of Transportation Safety Funds in State Budget

(Sacramento) - Assemblymember Jim Frazier (D-Discovery Bay) criticized the state budget adopted by the California Legislature for shortchanging transportation safety and specifically underfunding the California Highway Patrol. “Since 2010, the number of Highway Patrol officers on our roads has actually decreased 5 percent,” Frazier said. “California’s population, number of registered vehicles and licensed drivers continue to increase while highway patrol officers have become fewer.” To hear more about Assemblymember Frazier’s thoughts on the state budget, watch this Assembly Access video.
