SACRAMENTO, CA – Today, Assemblymember Robert Rivas was sworn in as the 71st Speaker of the California State Assembly. Assemblywoman Lori D. Wilson issued the following statement:
“My heart is filled with joy as I consider and celebrate the new season of leadership under the Honorable Assemblymember Robert Rivas,” said Assemblywoman Lori D. Wilson (D-Suisun City). “A man that has demonstrated throughout his political career his empathy, integrity and kindness. A man that despite coming from meager beginnings overcame challenge after challenge to become the type of leader we see today. I look forward to working with Speaker Rivas as we address challenges facing 11th Assembly District and California as a whole.”

The 11th Assembly District encompasses all of Solano County along with portions of Sacramento and Contra Costa counties.
