San Francisco Bay Ferry welcomes new vessel

SOLANO COUNTY — San Francisco Bay Ferry and its partners are celebrating the arrival of the MV Delphinus, the newest high-speed passenger vessel to join its fleet. MV Delphinus carries 320 passengers and will operate primarily on the Vallejo route. The vessel, which is the second in the Dorado class, can operate on all SF Bay Ferry routes due to its combination of speed and size.

SACRAMENTO, CA — The California Assembly Committee on Transportation oversees all facets of the transportation system in the state: from highway systems and maintenance through the Department of Transportation (Caltrans), driver’s license and vehicle registration at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), to policy and planning at transportation agencies at the regional level, and the California Transportation Commission at the state level. This year the committee is under the leadership of a new chair, Assemblywoman Lori D.

Wilson water, flood bills signed by Newsom

FAIRFIELD, CA — Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday signed into law two bills authored by Assemblywoman Lori Wilson that support flood control projects, habitat restoration and the needs of farmers in Solano County.

Assembly Bill 345, Wilson's Office said in a statement, provides the Department of Water Resources "with discretionary authority to utilize an advanced payment option when funding local flood protection and multi-benefit habitat restoration projects."

Radio network, early learning center to get state funding

FAIRFIELD, CA — Nearly $13 million in project money is headed to Assembly District 11, of which $5.25 million is going to Solano County.

Assemblywoman Lori Wilson, D-Suisun City, announced this week that six district projects will receive $12.75 million as part of the recently signed 2023-24 California Budget Act.

Wilson to continue as majority whip in state Assembly

Wilson, named assistant majority whip by former Speaker Anthony Rendon, and promoted to majority whip in December, called it an honor to be able to continue in the role.
